To ensure our platform remains stable and fair for everyone, Ordergroove is going to enable IP Rate Limiting on all production REST endpoints for https://restapi.ordergroove.com
The allowed limit will authorize 6,000 requests per IP per minute starting August 1, 2022. The same change was released to staging multiple weeks ago with the same throttling threshold.

As we have been monitoring the production traffic for the past few weeks, we can confidently say that enabling the IP Rate Limiting won’t impact your day-to-day use of our APIs. However, if you run more extensive scripts against our APIs in the future, you might notice some 429 HTTP status codes returned by our APIs. That error code means that some of your requests have reached the maximum threshold per IP per minute. Those requests returning 429 error codes are safe to retry at any point in time.

Designing your code with best practices in mind is the best way to avoid throttling errors. Consider optimizing your code, regulating the rate of your requests and handling retries for 429 status codes in your scripts.
